Additions & Alterations to the Tom Thompson Memorial Art Gallery
For the Tom Thomson Memorial Art Gallery, Owen Sound, Ontario

Project
Completed
The building formerly consisted of a one storey frame and stucco structure constructed by the Art Gallery on an old Church foundation. It was completely gutted, reinforced and renovated. An addition infilling between the existing structure and an adjacent library building now serves as a sculpture court and wheelchair accessible entrance. Another addition on the north side of the building houses a new gallery and improved storage, shipping and receiving facilities. The entire exterior was reconfigured and clad in brick making it compatible with the library building. New insulation and air vapour barrier was added to augment the new heating, ventilating and air conditioning system to meet Art Gallery standards.
