This adaptive-reuse project saw the conversion of an existing church into a new childcare facility.
The change of occupancy required the new design to comply with current Ontario Building Code (OBC) and Regional Childcare Facility regulations.
The new childcare facility provides:
  • 4 class/activity rooms;
  • a fully functional kitchen;
  • an indoor & outdoor activity area;
  • administratize offices; and,
  • storage rooms.

    The overall colour pallet for the spaces are subtle, non-gender specific yet playful and childlike - featuring a child's game in the flooring design. The existing laminated wood structure continues beyond the new floating ceiling.
